Tinie Tempah is best known by millions for his rise to fame through his music. The youngster has quickly become one of the most popular rap artists in the UK and critics expect his popularity to grow further.

Many people may therefore be shocked to hear that Tempah has now diversified away from music and has launched his own clothing range. Following in the footsteps of many other rap artists, Tempah is hoping to make a name for himself in the fashion industry; it remains to be seen what the fashion critics will think of this.

Tempah does know a thing or two about fashion and this was proven when he was crowned the best dressed male for 2012 by GQ magazine.

The fashion range named Disturbing London has an expected streetwear feel to it. The range will be launched across all four of the Selfridges stores; prices range from £25 to £250.

The rapper states that music and fashion have always gone together and therefore it makes sense to design the clothing range.

It is highly expected that this range will be very popular with his music fans and also with urban fashion lovers.

Fashion brand Jaeger has been sold as part of a major rescue deal, it had been worried that without the sale the brand may collapse. The business has been sold by Harold Tillman who is well known in the fashion industry as he is the chairman of the British Fashion Council.

The buyer of the business is a debt expert company named Better Capital owned by Jon Moulton; it is believed the business was purchased for just under £20 million.

The seller of the bran Jaeger is also looking to offload one of his other failing assets, the Aquascutum clothing brand.

Jaeger remains a major name on the British high streets and it is expected that it will remain a major figure in the high fashion arena.

Many questions have been raised about the strategy of the business and its focus on different fashion lines.

Fashion brand Aquascutum has entered administration and requires large investment to prevent the closure of the brand. The 160 year old British fashion retailer has collapsed and there are now 20 jobs at risk.

The fashion brand has created clothes for some of the most famous and important people in British history; including Winston Churchill and the Queen Mother.

The brand was bought by the owner of Jaeger, Harold Tillman, in 2009 at a time when it was also struggling and despite investment trading is still difficult.

Administrators are apparently confident that they will be able to secure a buyer for the whole Aquascutum business.

The brand operates from three main high street stores which are located in Westfield White City, Canary Wharf and Windsor. The brand has 16 further concessions at well known stores, including Harrods.

As well as the mainstream stores the fashion brand also has seven outlet stores. Aquascutum clothing is also stocked by House of Fraser, Selfridges, John Lewis, Austin Reed and Hoopers.

The fashion brand will continue to trade despite entering administration and it is hoped that a buyer can be secured in the near future.

This news comes a Burberry has posted record profits and the brand continues to grow all over the world.

Discount fashion chains around the UK are financially struggling and many run the risk of going out of business. Whilst previously these firms were the ones that were booming during the recession it has been revealed that many of them are struggling in reality.

The US giant Forever 21 has stated that it is currently evaluating its options over its Birmingham store. The store which is a major hit with shoppers may be forced to hand over some of the square footage to other ventures in order to make ends meet.

In the 12 months to February 2011 the store made a loss of £1.99 million and therefore drastic action is required.

Whilst many discount fashion stores are feeling the pain there are still some which continue to trade exceptionally well. Primark and Hennes & Mauritz are the most notable success stories.

Many lessons can be learnt by fashion retailers by considering the case study of H&M. This retailer has been able to survive through teaming up with high end designers and offering discounted high fashion clothing.
Spanish fashion retailer Zara also continues to trade well through offering high fashion clothes straight from the catwalk at excellent prices and within two weeks of them being seen.

Peacocks and Newlook are two retail fashion chains which have had great problems so far with some stores closing.
